Braised Spicy Chili Cabbage

Simple, fast yet tasty.  The tender yellow cabbage is being braised in a spicy chili bean sauce creating a delicious sweet, savory, and spicy flavor. This recipe makes a great vegetable side dish. Let’s get started.

Ingredients:

1 pound of yellow cabbage, coarsely chopped

1 tablespoon of cooking oil

1 cup of water

1 teaspoon of chili bean sauce

Salt to taste

Heat oil in a large skillet with a lid over over medium high heat. Add cabbage, stir until it starts to wilt in about 1 minute.

Stir in chili bean sauce to distribute evenly.  Add water and bring the liquid to a boil. Cover and cook until cabbage is tender about 5 minutes. Season with salt. Ready to serve.
