Soy Sauce Chicken Wings

When you have a group of hungry friends hanging out at your house, you can make this fool proof recipe that will impress them. Who doesn’t like juicy chicken wings that have been braising in soy sauce, ginger, scallion broth? I definitely can’t say no to that.

Ingredients:

2 lbs of chicken wings

1 inch ginger (cut into slices)

4 scallions (white part only)

2 tablespoons of light soy sauce

1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce

1 teaspoon of sugar

1 star anise (optional)

1 cup of water

Directions:

Heat skillet over medium high heat, add oil, ginger, and scallions. Stir until fragrant for about 30 seconds.

Add chicken wings, fry each side about about 5 minutes.

Add light and dark soy sauce, sugar, star anise (optional) and water. Cover the skillet and simmer in low heat for about 20 minutes.

Plate and ready to serve.
