Plain Rice Congee

Warm and gentle on the stomach. Congee is the most comforting breakfast food. It is served unseasoned accompanied by Pickled Cucumbers, fried eggs, soy sauce tofu, salted fried peanuts, or maybe even leftovers from last night’s dinner.

Ingredients:

3/4 cup of rice

3 quart of water

Directions:

Rinse and drain the rice.

Bring the measured water to a boil with rice in pot in medium heat uncovered.IMG_1750

After 20 minutes.

After another 20 minutes.

Serve congee with your favorite accompaniments.
